Ms. Brazile's Kindergarten students always pick up trash they find on the playground while at recess. They love to see our school campus looking tidy, and challenge all the classes in the school to do the same!

Mrs. Ascetta's first graders are now accomplished writers and illustrators! Families, save this picture so they can share it when they hit #1 on the best-seller list one day!

Our lost and found box is OVERFLOWING! The jackets in the lost and found do not have names in them so it is difficult to find their owners. Please put your child's name in all outerwear (jackets, hats, gloves, etc.) and next time you are here, search the lost and found box if your child's jacket is missing!

We are so thankful to our PTO for sponsoring a popcorn fundraiser to benefit our school this year. The students who sold popcorn have been enjoying the rewards, including a limo ride to lunch and an icee party. A special thank you to the DeFuniak Chick-fil-a for welcoming our students, giving everyone a free ice cream, and providing a tour of Chick-fil-a and explaining how they make their yummy chicken meals! The fundraiser earned almost $10,000 for our school!

As the top seller for our recent PTO Popcorn Fundraiser, Lily Spence was allowed to "silly string the principal"! Mrs. Neale was a good spot and they hugged it out at the end.

Happy Thanksgiving from Maude Saunders! We loaved seeing so many of our MSE families at our annual Thanksgiving Family Lunch. Over 1,000 students, family members, and staff participated in this EPIC event. Thank you to all who helped decorate, checked visitors in, checked students out, sold tickets, ensured everyone's safety, served meals, and especially those who prepared the food.

As an AVID school, Maude Saunders students are already exploring their college and career options. Today, all students participated in a Career Exploration Day, where community members shared many different job opportunities with students. We are very thankful to the many volunteers who took time to share their expertise with our scholars!

Ms. Andrews third graders are proudly displaying the Accelerated Reader grade level trophy and the book they chose from the St. Joe book vending machine. Your child should be reading an A.R. book every night for at least 20 minutes and testing at school. To make their individual goal and receive recognition, they need to earn the following points, while maintaining an 85% accuracy level.
Kindergarten - 30
First grade - 40
Second grade- 50
Third grade -60
Fourth grade- 70
Fifth grade - 80

As always, the Fall Festival was a blast! Thank you to all the staff, especially Racheal Spence, Beverly Morrison, and Sommer Pickard, and the Walton High School Key and Anchor Club members, who worked hard to make it such a fun night! We love seeing all of our students and families enjoying family time in a fun, safe environment.

Who's afraid to get a little pumpkin on their hands? Not these first grade "pumpkin investigators"! They carved, scraped, dug, counted, sorted, estimated, measured, and weighed these pumpkins and their seeds!
