DeFuniak Springs — Applications are now available for parents who are considering enrolling their children in a school other than their zoned school. Florida Statute 1002.31 requires district school boards to adopt and implement a plan to allow a parent from any school in the state to enroll a child in a school of choice.
The Controlled Open Enrollment (COE) application window for the Walton County School District will be from January 3 – March 15. Parents/Guardians must provide transportation to the COE school with available capacity. Parents/Guardians may obtain an application at any school, on the district’s website, or through the district office.
