FMS AVID Students Visit Fifth Grade To Recruit Future Members

Freeport Middle School eighth grade AVID students visited fifth grade classes on Friday, January 13th to recruit new members. AVID is an academic elective class whose mission is encourage college readiness. In this picture, Cameron Roberts and Rhiannon Caldwell told students about the application process, organization, and the AVID family. They also told the students about their college visits that they have completed since becoming members. In sixth grade, they visited Northwest Florida State College. In seventh grade, they visited University of West Florida. This year, they will be visiting Florida State University's main campus. AVID applications are due on March 18th. MHS Honors Florida First Responder Appreciation Week

Mossy Head School surprised School Resource Deputy Messenger in honor of First Responder Appreciation Week. Students presented her with a special mural, themed cake, and the students and staff wore blue in support of those who protect, serve, and respond to emergencies each day. Miss Walton County Pageant

The Walton High School Drama Club will present the 2017 Miss Walton County Pageant on February 18 in the Walton High School Auditorium. The pageant is an official preliminary to the National Peanut Festival Pageants. The pageant is open to contestants who live or attend school in Walton County in the following age divisions.
Miss Walton County - ages 17 to 21 by October 1, 2017
Little Miss Walton County - all First Graders
Teen Miss Walton County - ages 13 to 16 by November 1, 2017
Junior Miss Walton County - ages 10 to 12
Young Miss Walton County - ages 7 to 9
Future Little Miss Walton County - ages 4 to 6
Tiny Miss Walton County - ages 2 & 3
The entry fee is $50, with optional photogenic for an additional $10 fee. The deadline for entry is February 3.
