Congratulations to WHS student Jade Larrick, who signed her official commitment on January 27 to play college softball for Huntington College in Montgomery, AL.   We are so proud of you, Jade! Submitted by Christy English.

As part of literacy week, VRB students created a human bookworm throughout the hallways. Around 1100 students all joined together in the hallway to read for 20 minutes. All students were "connected" with each other, creating a bookworm. Submitted by Sherrie Binkowski.

Mrs. Reinke's 8th grade science students recently worked cooperatively to use digital thermometers connected to computers to collect data on exothermic chemical reactions.  After putting vinegar on a piece of steel wool, and the program recorded the temperature every half second and plotted it on a graph.  Students enjoyed this hands-on learning opportunity that combined science and technology. WMS Celebrates Literacy Week

January 30, 2017

Walton Middle School students had a blast celebrating literacy week January 23-27.  The themes for the week were as follows:  Monday--Hats off to Literacy (hat day); Tuesday--Hunting for a Good Book (camo day); Wednesday--Reading Takes You Back to the Future (favorite decade attire day); Thursday--We've Got Spirit (grade level color day); Friday--Team up with a Good Book (team attire day).  Students and faculty enjoyed showing their support for reading with a week of crazy and fun styles.  Submitted by Kristen Rhodes.
