WDE 2nd grade students enjoyed participating in a “Genre Carnival” on Tuesday! Students began the day with Mrs. Tammy Goodman, WDE librarian, and learned about book genres through a character known as “Mr. Wiggles”. Students sorted books by genres through an interactive game. Second graders also enjoyed exploring library books and sorting them by genre. Throughout the day, students rotated classrooms while learning about different types of genres and earning special treats! Sharing lots of different kinds, or genres, of books with young readers exposes them to different words, different pictures, and whole new worlds.
