Freeport Middle School 8th grade AVID students attended "classes" at Florida State University on Wednesday. Throughout the tour, they learned the history of the school, walked the campus, and fit right in.  These 8th grade AVID students have already visited three area post-secondary schools, Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, University of West Florida in Pensacola, and Florida State University in Tallahassee. Thank you Deputy White for your years of service and protection at Bay Elementary School. Our students have learned a lot from you and enjoyed your presence on campus. Enjoy retirement and know you will be missed! Submitted by Cindy Stewart.

Former West DeFuniak Elementary students participated in a Senior Walk on Monday, May 15th.  Students had their arms outstretched as the Walton High School seniors walked by in cap and gown.  It was easy to see the benefits of this tradition. WHS seniors were setting an example for WDE’s students saying “one day, you too will be here.” Submitted by Darlene Paul.
