MSE 4th graders are busy creating opinion compositions.  They use the “PAT” down method to analyze the prompt, followed by intense writing.  The students love sharing their opinion pieces with their classmates, as they become very confident writers!

Over 1,000 5th graders from Okaloosa and Walton County were guests of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra as they performed “The Chenoo Who Stayed for Dinner” by Peter Schickele at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center today! Jeffrey Rink conducted the orchestra, and founding NFSO conductor, John Leatherwood, performed the narration of “The Chenoo Who Stayed For Dinner,” by Peter Schickele. This is an annual event sponsored by the NFSO, and a great opportunity for students to see and hear a live symphony orchestra in performance. Special guest performer was 10 year old violinist, Kyle Richardson, Junior Division winner of the NFSO Concerto competition in performance of the 1st movement of Mozart’s G major violin concerto.

Congratulations to Freeport Middle School students Lily Stacy and Paisley McCormick for their 1st and 2nd place awards in the Picture the Music art contest sponsored by Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra!!!

For her efforts, she won honorable mention in the junior engineering division and a certificate of recognition and commemorative coin from Reliance Test & Technology for an outstanding project. Congrats to Zoe for an excellent job using science and engineering to solve a real problem!
Mossy Head School students, families, and staff celebrated Science with MHS Family Science Night. Families got to view Science Fair projects on display and participate in some awesome experiments and activities provided by Emerald Coast Science Center.
